Welcome to Christmas

Welcome to Christmas
at our house today
Family, friends and
those far away
We hope you’ll be
finding some merriness here
Celebrate with us the birth of a child
Born in a refuge unfit and reviled
We hope to see the child and his family released
Life is for living whoever you are
Home is for everyone nearby and far
Who need hope.
Chorus: Welcome to Christmas
Whether you’re able or whether you’re well,
We wish you joy wherever you dwell
You’re among friends longing to share Noel
Peace is for spreading the joy everyday
Home is for everyone nearby and far
Who need love.
Chorus: Welcome to Christmas
We hope you’ll be finding some merriness here
Two thousand
(give or take a few) years ago, Jesus, born in a shelter for animals and given
a bed in a trough where the animals would eat, came into the world to save
humanity from itself. Jesus, whose
parents escaped to lib=ve in Egypt until it was safe to return home, was a
refugee. Today we have so many comforts
to keep us safe and secure, yet we still are unable to afford the humanity to
ensure that those who need help from us who are able to give it have a place to
call home where they feel secure. So be merry, but don’t forget to give to
others who through no fault of their own are unable to do the same. Give hope unconditionally.
